"$4,000 the lot" by text seven lines, every one priced.

The 7-line quote
  1. 1 On-site assessment. Access, risk and proximity to structures checked in person, with whether council approval is needed confirmed up front.
  2. 2 Arborist report or permit, if required. Where the council needs paperwork, the report and the council fee are priced as their own lines, never hidden.
  3. 3 The removal or pruning. The felling, sectional dismantle or pruning itself, by AQF-qualified crews, with rope and rigging where access needs it.
  4. 4 Traffic and property protection. Traffic management, lawn and roof protection where the site calls for it, scoped before the day, not discovered on it.
  5. 5 Clean-up and green waste. Branches chipped, timber and debris removed, the site raked and left tidy.
  6. 6 Stump grinding (optional). Ground below grade and the grindings cleared or backfilled, priced separately so you choose.
  7. 7 Public liability cover. Every job carried out under $20M public liability insurance, with the AQF level of the arborist on the quote.
If a quote doesn’t show these lines, you can’t compare it, and you don’t know what’s been cut.

What you get from us

Cowboy tells

  • An unqualified "lopper" with a chainsaw and a ute

  • Trees taken down with no check on whether it is legal
  • A vague all-in number that grows once the work starts
  • Branches and a stump left behind for you to deal with
Honest scope

Removal, pruning, complex, or just a report?

Option A

Pruning and maintenance

Crown thinning, deadwooding and clearance to the AS 4373 standard. The right call when the tree is sound and just needs managing.

Right when: The tree is healthy but overgrown, touching the roof, or due a check.
Wrong when: The tree is dead, dangerous or has to go: that is a removal.
$350 to $1,500
Most common

Tree removal

Safe removal of a small to medium tree in a reachable spot, with the council step confirmed and the site cleaned up.

Right when: A tree needs to go and a crew can reach it without a crane.
Wrong when: It is large and over the house or lines: that is complex removal.
$1,400 to $4,500
Option C

Large or complex removal

Big trees over a house or power lines, or tight sites needing a crane, rigging and traffic management. The work cowboys will not touch.

Right when: The tree is large, hazardous, or only reachable with a crane.
Wrong when: A standard crew can reach it safely from the ground.
$4,500 to $15,000+
Option D

Arborist report or consult

Independent assessment for council, a development application or a dispute. Sometimes the paperwork comes before the chainsaw.

Right when: Council wants a report, or you need to know if removal is even allowed.
Wrong when: The tree is an obvious safety emergency: call us, do not wait on a report.

“Huge gum leaning over the back of the house, two other mobs quoted vague all-in numbers. Branchline itemised it, sorted the council side, and the price on the quote was the price we paid. Site left spotless.”

“Needed an arborist report for council before a build. It was thorough, accepted first go, and they were honest that two of the trees were worth keeping. No upsell.”

“Big camphor laurel out and the stump ground below grade so we could re-turf. Quoted the removal, the clean-up and the stump as separate lines, which made it easy to decide.”

“Asked them to clear around the house for bushfire season. They reduced what needed it and talked me out of removing a healthy banksia. Trustworthy, and fully insured, which mattered to us.”

Watch this before you book

The questions every customer asks, answered once.

Council approval, costs, qualified versus lopper, storm work, answered straight.

Do I need council approval to remove a tree?
Often, yes. Many Northern Rivers councils protect trees above a certain height or trunk size, and the rules differ by area. We identify the tree and confirm whether an application is required before any work is booked, so the job is legal before it starts.
Why do tree-removal quotes vary so much?
Usually because they are not pricing the same thing. One quote leaves out the arborist report, the council fee, the clean-up or the stump. We itemise all of it, so a $2,690 quote and a $4,000 quote can finally be compared line for line.
What is the difference between a qualified arborist and a tree lopper?
A lopper is anyone with a chainsaw and a ute. A qualified arborist holds an AQF qualification, prunes to the AS 4373 standard, and carries insurance. Topping a tree (lopping) actually damages it and creates dangerous regrowth.
Are you insured?
Yes. Every job is carried out under public liability cover to $20M, with WorkCover for the crew. If a tree job goes wrong and the operator is not insured, the risk lands on you.
Do you handle emergency and storm jobs?
Yes, around the clock. For a tree on a house, blocking access or on power lines, we prioritise the call and make the site safe first, then sort the detail and your insurance paperwork after.
Do you grind the stump and take the green waste?
If you want us to. Both are separate, optional lines on the quote: we grind the stump below grade, and we can chip and remove the green waste or leave the mulch for your garden.
